Notes: Founded in 1857, Bethlehem Steel was one of the foremost producers of American steel through the 19th and 20th centuries. Initially producing rail and armor plate, the company diversified into architectural steel, producing components eventually used in the Golden Gate and George Washington Bridges, the Hoover Dam, the Chrysler Building, and Madison Square Garden. Bethlehem also acquired several shipyards early in the 20th century, becoming the premier American shipbuilder and supplying the US Navy with ships, armor, and armament through both World Wars. After a long decline through the late 20th century, Bethlehem's interest were sold off and the company disolved in 2003. The Bethlehem, PA facilities are now becoming a casino and industrial museum.
