Notes: Edward Thomas of Wales, designer. Originally equipped with a water wheel and bellows, the furnace was converted to hot blast (reputed to be first in America) propelled by 170 horse power which was generated by a steam engine having 10 boilers. The fuel was coke made from bituminous coal.
