Carrick-ar-Rede is a rope bridge that connects the mainland of Northern Ireland with the small island of Carrick-ar-Rede. According to local traditions a rope bridge has existed for the use of fisherman for at least 350 years. The bridge is currently a major tourist attraction operated by the National Trust.
